Gene M. Fay is an academic coach as well as the founder
and president of Great Grades Strategies, an academic study and life skills
company that focuses on helping students and student athletes succeed in the
classroom and in life. He is also an online instructor and guess lecturer at Northeastern University. Great Grades Strategies was launched in 2003 and is located in North
Andover, MA.
During a successful 17-year career as a high-tech
entrepreneur, Gene also began working as an academic coach for high school and
college students and student athletes.
He started Great Grades Strategies as a result of his own experiences as
a student athlete. Gene was a
below-average student in high school. His academic struggles continued during
his first semester at Northeastern University. Determined to become a winner in the
classroom, Gene taught himself study skills that resulted in a dramatic
academic turnaround while he was still a freshman.
Initially, Great Grades Strategies only offered on-site
seminars for athletes at colleges and universities that included Gene's alma
mater, Northeastern University, as
well as Boston College, Boston University, University of Massachusetts, Rutgers University and
others. Great Grades Strategies
introduced an innovative academic study and life skills video product that Gene
designed specifically for competitive high school and college students.
Gene holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Northeastern University. He also received an MBA from Northeastern,
where he served as class president and graduated summa cum laude.
